Thrones Review, Season 8 Episode 5: "The Bells"

Regarding Jon killing Dany: I can totally see it playing out in the show but somehow I can't see it in the books. And simply because I am quite certain that the long night will happen AFTER the King's Landing Kaboom and that Jon will somehow not only accept her but also become her lover afterwards so I can't see why he should kill Dany then. I am pretty sure that Dany will die in the books (possibly even pregnant) but not at Jon's hands. Or maybe my theory is wrong and ugly and it will play out it some kind of "holy shit moment" and will be completely convincing.

I agree that the setup of Dany going "mad" was very poor and rushed. The overall theme of Nukes/Dragons unleash horrible damage. Dany represents America to me, and this definitely seemed like GRRM's take on Truman bombing Hiroshima. GRRM having us watch the dragons hatch is very similar to GRRM growing up with nukes in their infancy, and imo was pure genius. Then Arya on the ground to see the perspective of the innocent people dying was amazing, and her scene with Sandor was very emotional. Also it made me do a lot of self reflection, and soul searching which I believe is GRRM's ultimate goal. #BeKindToOneAnother
